AqCIRT
Aquatic Critical Incident Response Team
We are currently in the development phase of our Aquatic Critical Incident Response Team (AqCIRT) for lifeguards in the United States and Canada. We will be targeting select, senior-industry leaders in aquatics alongside CISM industry leaders to form an Aquatics Industry Critical Incident Stress Working Group. Using the guidance from this Working Group, we hope to launch AqCIRT services for the United States in 2026. We are still building a implementation timeline within Canada.
If you would like to be considered for this group, please contact us at: info@ilcira.org
We will begin Lifeguard Peer Support Volunteer (LPSV) Recruitment in 2025.
Our Aquatic Critical Incident Response Team (AqCIRT) will be a peer-led, peer-driven support network of Lifeguard Peer Support Volunteers (LPSVs), supported by International ILCIRA Staff. Our LPSVs are Lifeguard Instructors, Instructor-Trainers and Senior Aquatics Professionals from across the industry, trained & certified to deliver crisis intervention support.
Our purpose is to provide a network of Critical Incident Stress Management – Lifeguard Peer Support Volunteers, service providers, trainers and resources. We utilize evidence-based industry best practice CISM models to assist emergency responders within the aquatics community to better manage the aftermath of critical incidents.
